About RMT
Real Men Talking movement includes a unique multimedia stage play performance and a comprehensive, on-going leadership curriculum. The theater production captures the audience’s attention. The RMT Leadership Curriculum empowers individuals to make new commitments and to transform those commitments into reality. The product line includes student workbooks, interactive DVD, mentor facilitation manual (15 modules), and an inspirational CD sound track.
Founded in 2004, RMT is a synergistic joint venture between Success By Choice, Inc. and Justice Productions. The principals of RMT are highly accomplished in their fields. Marlon Smith, CEO of Success By Choice, has fourteen years experience in educational consulting. Flemuel Brown III, producer/director/Writer of Justice Productions, has sixteen years in music, film and video production.
Primary Objective: To create a movement of accountability and responsibility for ALL people so they maximize their true potential.
The Solution: Real Men Talking International (RMT) helps combat the challenges faced by today’s young people. RMT empowers today’s young people as well as adults to be successful in all areas of life by sharing specific leadership principles. To achieve its objective, RMT utilizes an innovative mix of television, theater, music and educational / motivational training media. The stage play captures the attention of the audience and stimulates their involvement. The RMT leadership curriculum empowers individuals to make new commitments by utilizing specific success strategies and leadership principles. The ultimate goal is to transform families and communities so individuals are maximizing their true potential and living with purpose.
The Cast and Director: The “Real Men Talking” cast and director are no strangers to the stage and national media. Credits include:
- Roles in movies: “Barbershop I,” “Barbershop II,” “Bad Boys of Comedy,” “Roll Bounce,”
- Television Roles: "The Chappelle Show"; weekly series “Hack,” and HBO’s “The Wire”;
- Music production for artists ranging from Gerald Levert to Mystical;
- Author of multiple books for youth empowerment;
- Contributing author in the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series; and
- Features on national television and in print, including Black Entertainment Television (BET) and Essence Magazine.
The RMT Leadership Curriculum: True change is a process, not a one-time event. It is not enough for today’s young people to be stimulated by the RMT multimedia theater production without follow-up reinforcement. By implementing specific success strategies, the RMT Leadership Curriculum empowers today’s young people to produce outstanding results. This curriculum consists of fifteen leadership modules covering topics such as decision-making, self-esteem, academic excellence, discipline, and time-management.
The RMT Facilitators’ Training: This training session helps facilitators maximize their effectiveness as positive role models. Selected mentors (teachers, parents and community members) will learn how to utilize the RMT Leadership Curriculum in helping today’s youth discover their boundless potential and effectuate their success.
